Story stones for interactive tales

Forest School Play and Stay

Regular outdoor activity not only boosts physical development, it is also known to foster creativity, build confidence and establish happier, healthier children.

Uneven surfaces, different textures and smells, grasping and picking up objects, all aid the development of gross and fine motor skills, balance and hand-to-eye coordination.

Wessex Forest School offers weekly sessions at Knole Pit Meadow, a blossoming wildlife haven and agroforestry project complete with compost toilets, polytunnel shelter and kitchen.

Sessions are themed around seasons, festivals and books with plenty of opportunity for child-led exploration and discovery. Carers are encouraged to share the activities with the children and all are welcome to enjoy drinks and snacks around the fire at the end of the session.
